Not everyone likes the New Years Resolutions. Many have inherited traditions from the past. The New Year brings a fresh attitude after that amazing down time between Christmas and The New Year. A time where we literally stop still. Walking in the neighbourhood in your jammies is considered normal during this phase called Twixmas. We relax. We reflect and sometimes during those moments we think differently about our life.
So here is a selection of ideas for social and wellbeing goals for 2018, both lighthearted and thought provoking for you to consider:-
Show Gratitude - A beautiful virtue is a grateful heart which is a magnet for miracles.
Touch - Is a silent way of saying you matter to me. Show them. An arm squeeze, a cwtch, a hug. Humans need contact. tell them you care and give them a cwtch. To be honest, hugging yourself isn't a bad thing either. Virtual hugs matter too.
Some Kindness - No beauty shines brighter than a good heart. Be kind to yourself and then allow that kindness to fill the world. Be the reason that someone smiles each day.
Outside of the Comfort Zone - Always go with the choice that scares you the most. Discomfort can be a wise teacher. Your dreams could be the other side of the comfort zone.
As a Group - Be with people who inspire you to be better. This helps the Wishers turn into Action-Takers. When we support each other, incredible things happen.
Social Campaign - Pick one. Straw Free. FGM. Homelessness. Mental Health Awareness. Bullying. Sexual Discrimination. Dirty Water. Litter. Recycling. Things that you are passionate about, become your calling.
Share Love - Do everything with so much love in your heart that you wouldn't want to do it any other way.
Give Time - When you give time, you give someone something that you will never get back. Small moments turn into years.
Make a Promise - A Promise is a commitment by someone to do or not do something. As a noun promise means a declaration, assuring that one will or will not do something.
Re-Connect - vulnerability is a bridge to build connection. If you see something wonderful in someone, tell them.
Pause - Practice the pause. When in doubt, pause. When angry, pause. When tired, pause. When stressed, pause. And when you pause, pray. #powerofpositivity
Be somebody that makes everyone feel like a somebody.
